Who is running these events?
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009I am, with the assistance of my House.
I am very grateful to any group that supports our efforts. For each presentation or event or discussion or gather, we happily accept support from any within the entire community. Be it group leaders allowing us to post to their list; an individual assisting us in teaching a topic; or a local group sharing space.
I’ve been asked more than once if the events that House Metta holds “…are part of so-and-so group?”. To be as clear as I can, no. I am not sure why this keeps coming up. Granted, dawn and I have at one time or another been part of many of the groups in this town. And other members of our House are involved in other groups. Not to mention, we happily attend any groups events that we are allowed to.
The goal of our events is to not be “group centric” but open to anyone, regardless of if they are part of (or not part of) any local or national group. We open all of our gathers with an informal “if you are part of a group, tell us about it” so that people who are interested in joining or participating can do so.
Finally, allow me to make this statement.
I am Master Daniel, Leaders of House Metta. Neither I nor My House are lead by, instructed by, or puppets of any organization, House, or person or people. I have been a member of this community since before the current groups* existed and am grateful that they are here to support us all now. My desire is to share with the community that helped me grow. To share some of the experience that I have gained. To give back to those that where here when I showed up. If in the future I run things for a group, I will say so clearly, openly, and proudly. Those that run groups in this community should be proud – they deserve our respect and admiration for the time and effort they put in.
I feel that, to the best of my ability, I have been clear about this and consider the topic closed. If my words are unclear, or you unsure of my integrity, contact me directly.
* with the exception of NLA-Columbus, which has been a part of our community since long before me.
