A few weeks back, we set up our Scarlet Sanctuary at an event and opened the door. The idea of the Scarlet Sanctuary, the way we do it, is simple – we provide loving, compassionate, non threatening sensual touch to anyone that wants to experience it. Everyone, regardless of race or age or size or style, is greeted with Qadishti Eyes of acceptance and that Heinlein sense of “Thou Art God/dess”. They are brought inside and intimately led to receive.

(Receiving, we discovered, is very hard for some people. For lots of people. Just to lay there and allow yourself to just be, just receive erotic touch, and not feel like you are supposed to do anything).

As it happened, “Everyone, regardless of…” was tested for me personally at this event, as I found myself working on a ‘Star’. Now, I do not mean TV Star or a Hollywood Star (although she may be in movies). But in this case, she is a star of the erotic circles. Would you have heard of her? Well, if you run in my circles, then yes, but the fact that I knew who she was, and she was one of the first people I ever saw lecture, was threatening to throw me off balance. Both my own sense of awe at working with her and my own ego (look who I am working on) were observed as possibly causing this to be less than sacred.

Until we got started. Once we got started, it was no longer about her as The Star, nor was it about Me the Qadesh Working with the Star, it was just two people. It just a receiver and a giver. She simply was another human, another person, full of sensual love. I was just a giver, allowing my ego to sleep while I ministered to another of the beutiful beings that inhabit the world.

Beyond that, her response and mine, become a matter like many other sessions, but one too private feeling to post here.

The important thing I took away from this experience is not that everyone is just another person. But instead, something that I was told at the very first sacred sexuality event I ever went to was brought to mind and I am reminded – “Everyone is a star”

We are reworking a few of our older presentations; recording some new tracks for Erotic World Weekly; looking foward to Path of the Qadishti audio tonight; working on a ‘what is a mentor’ for House Metta….

Terra Incognita (TI) is a Temple of Sexual Magick founded in Chicago that has slowly evolved from a small gathering of friends hosted by Amanda and David over ten years ago, to a larger group of karmically interconnected people.

TI has attempted to integrate spirituality with sexuality using an ancient Mesopotamian model that we have found very adaptable to a variety of religious and magickal beliefs. While the Temples of Sumer and Babylon have inspired our mindset, we also feel a connection to the European mariners who were brave enough to sail to the “unknown lands” they called Terra Incognita on their maps. Scary, shadow-filled places of Monsters and Magick near The Edge of the World.

We believe that breaking fear-generated barriers is an important part of personal growth. TI also feels the power of loving energy can heal most emotional wounds as well as unite those participating in the Process. In our perspective, symbolic acts can only bring symbolic rewards, so both diety and divine energy exchanges should be real.

To actively explore these ideas Terra Incognita is dedicated to the Qadishtu path of sexual healing. For us this includes BDSM, Paganism, our Patron/protégé program, polyamory, Sex Magick, sexwork, surrogacy, Tantra and Taoist practices. TI has developed a very flexible neo-Pagan type of ritual to focus energetic group workings, which owes a great deal to Chaos Magick creativity. Our Qadishtu priesthood is Temple-based, in homage to historical precedents and includes educational outreach and various hands-on practices with Seekers. We have also hosted assorted salons, workshops and book signings, as well as presented at festivals and conferences.

Starting in the fall of 2004, New Zealand filmmaker Lynda Brendish began filming an award- winning documentary about Terra Incognita called Uncharted Lands. It captured our shift from a larger group dynamic to one that is more family-based today. The current core of TI is now Amanda, David and Magickal Partner Kristin. However, the Temple still honors and works with an extended Tribe of wonderful folks in the Sacred Sexuality community.

We just had the level 1 group finish there first class, a gathering that was part introduction and part the words of those who concidure themselves a Qadishti and what it means to them. We had representation from tantrikas, sexual magicians, energy workers, BDSM’ers, and more. A great group to be working with.

I want to take a moment and Thank Dan and dawn for coming out in the
blustering cold last night to present for AIS-Sinergy on “Orgasmic
Energy” It was so wonderful to have you guys and so look forward to
having you come visit us again!

The room was freezing cold when we first started but heated up real
quick once that sexual energy started flowing…This group sure
knows how to heat up a room!! *giggle*

Dan and dawn talked about reaching that orgasmic peak and what can
be done from there and that orgasm is not always the “goal”.
They also touched on if an orgasm is the goal putting intent behind
it for an actual purpose to manifest things in our lives or to heal
others or ourselves.
They also touched on ways to breath and cycle the energy through out
our bodies and how males can control their ejaculations with these
techniques…and sooo much more!!
It was such a good time and it was so nice having two very special
people to me come out and talk about things they taught me along
way.  It was a great meeting and can’t wait until next month!!
